Finleif Mortensen Exhibition
Finleif Mortensen grew up in Argir, a town close to Torshavn in the Faroe Islands. Finleif first participated in an art exhibition 1985 in the Faroes. Since then he has held numerous private shows in galleries and museums, both in his home country and in Denmark.
Finleif is very much inspired by the Faroe Islands’ unique nature, and expresses that in his art through abstract expressionism where only the figurative in nature is visible. Although the works depict a village, the ocean, mountains and light, the aim is the joy and pleasure of painting, and people experience that joy when viewing them.
The paintings are oil on canvas and were specially painted for this exhibition. The paintings, all of which are for sale, are exhibited in Betri stofan until September 5th.
