A new exhibition was opened July 7th in Hornsílid. The exhibition is called Images from the Arctic Convoys photographs taken by Robert Lvovich Diament. During the Second World War Robert was sent to serve the Norhern Fleet as að photo-reporter and later became head of the Photo Department at the Navy Political Office. He participated in many military operations whilst in the Northern Fleet.
The exhibition will be open until August 30th.
The president of Iceland Mr. Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson opened the exhibiton. At the occasion the museum´s manager, Eiríkur Jörundsson, Mr. Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson and Vilhjálmur Þ. Vilhjálmsson chairman of the board had their picture taken.

The Russian Ambassador
